Vienna

Vienna is the capital of Austria, located in the east of the country, having approximately 1.6 million inhabitants.
Vienna's history can be tracked back to the 5th century before Christ.
Vienna is also known worldwide as a city of cultural life: music, theater and fine arts.
There's definitely a lot for sightseeing: St.Stephen's Cathedral, the Imperial Palace, the Spanish Riding School, the Vienna State Opera, the National Theater Burgtheater, a lot of museums, the palace of Schönbrunn, the Vienna Prater, and many more ...
The Viennese climate is a Pannonian climate with a continental influence; during November there's normally rather cool and rainy weather.

Getting to Vienna

You might find the following information useful for your travel planning and getting an impression of Vienna:

You could also try to get a RyanAir or SkyEurope flight to Bratislava, Slovakia (65 km from Vienna), taking the train (about 1 hour) from Bratislava to Vienna (Wien-Südbahnhof), then changing to S-Bahn (like coming from airport Vienna / Schwechat).

Visa for international guests

EU nationals do not need a visa to enter Austria. For most other contries visas are required (in some cases only a form you fill during the flight). In that case please check at the Austrian Embassy in your country if you have to apply for an entry visa in advance and need a letter of invitation.
